“I am a singer/songwriter. My music is fused with touches of R&B, jazz, and indie pop.

Honestly, a formative moment for me was singing at my very first open mic. I don’t have this issue now, thank goodness – I worked through it – but I had such severe stage fright. I wrote songs for myself. I did do church worship team a little bit when I was younger, but out in the public I never would share with anybody else anything I had written.

That first open mic took place in Goshen. It was December of 2018 in Downtown Goshen. My husband and I probably went to that open mic four times before I had the guts to actually hop up and do it. Once I did it, everyone who was there was so encouraging afterwards. I think that’s just the Goshen way: Once somebody is out there just doing something that they love, the community picks them up and pushes them further, which has been my experience. If I never would have gone to that open mic, I would never be writing an album.

I have been recording an album. We started it when COVID hit, so that whole project got paused. I’m actually finishing it up now. It originally was supposed to be an EP, just around seven songs. I basically played through my notebook with my team, and now it’s 13 songs plus a bonus track. It’s a whole album.

We’re doing an album release concert at The Goshen Theater on June 12. The album comes out on June 11. It’s a full band show, and we’re using all-regional musicians. We also have two opening acts. It’s going to be a very fun night. We’re all very excited.”
