Are you planning on attending the Michiana Pottery Tour this weekend? The annual event is happening this Saturday and Sunday, September 24 & 25, 2022!

Justin Rothshank is hosting a stop this year at his studio in Goshen. Read about what Justin has to say about the artists he’s hosting and why he’s looking forward to the tour!

“I’m hosting Yesha Panchal, Kyle Guymon, Horacio Casillas, Jr., and Susan McHenry. Horacio came last year but was at a different stop. This is the first year for Yesha, Kyle, and Susan to appear in person. All were part of our virtual tour during Covid.

Michiana Pottery Tour attracts arts and culture enthusiasts and pottery collectors from all over the country, especially from the Midwest. Last year, the pottery tour generated over $100,000 in collective sales for participating artists, drawing collectors from cities in the region like Chicago, Detroit, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis. The cultural draw is a way to showcase the beauty in the area: rural farmland as well as downtown shopping in Goshen, Middlebury, and South Bend.

The Michiana Pottery Tour also contributes an opportunity for emerging artists to connect with more established artists working within their home studios. It’s a great way to learn about the process of becoming a working artist.

I’m looking forward to hosting an in-person event again this year. I’ve only been able to participate virtually for the past two years, and I’m eager to hear feedback from fellow artists and collectors!”
